Pickleball blends tennis, badminton, and table tennis into one addictive, fast-paced game — with its own unique twist.

It's All In The Bounce
The aim is simple: rally a light plastic ball over the net and inside the lines to score points — ideally while making your mates sprint across the court. You kick things off with a diagonal serve, landing in the opposite service area, and the ball must bounce once on each side before either team can start hitting freely.

Hold On, Folks
Stepping into the kitchen? You can't volley there — the ball has to bounce first. Keep the ball inside the white lines, because every time your opponent misses or hits it out, you're one step closer to the scoreboard. But here's the twist: you only earn points when you're the serving team. If your opponents win the rally, the serve and their chance to score flips to them.

It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over
The first team to reach 11 points (or any agreed number) with a two-point lead takes the win. Easy! Grab a paddle, round up your friends, and book a court — you'll be hooked in no time.

Know Your Court
Get familiar with the court layout so you can position smarter, serve cleaner, and play with confidence. Pickleball courts are 13.4m × 6.1m — about a third the size of a tennis court — with a non-volley "kitchen" zone running 2.1m from each side of the net.
The Scoring
Here's the quick rundown on how Pickleball scoring works.

Serving
Announce the serving team's score first. If you've racked up 4 points, start with "four."

Receiving
Next, call out the receiving team's score. If they're sitting on just 1 point, say "one."

Doubles
End with the server number — "1" for the first server on that team, "2" for the second. This keeps everyone on the same page.

Dink
A soft and controlled shot played close to the net.
Game
A complete set of points, typically played to 11 or 15 points.
Sideout
When the serving team fails to win the rally, resulting in a loss of serve and the opposing team gaining the opportunity to serve.
Erne
A shot executed by leaping outside the sideline and volleying the ball before it crosses the net.
Kitchen
A non-volley zone located near the net where players are restricted from hitting volleys or smashes.
Match
A series of games played to determine the overall winner.
