Do I need a membership? +
Unsure if a membership is suitable for your needs? Send us an email at memberships@houseofpickle.com.au to walk you through each membership type to see if they are the right fit for you.

[ DAY PASS RULES ]

What is a Day Pass and when do I need one? +
A Day Pass gives you access to play at HOP for a single day. You'll need one if you're joining a free court booking made by an Unlimited or Off-Peak member and your own membership doesn't include free court access. The cost varies by location. For example, if an Unlimited member books a court at 7 pm and an Off-Peak member joins the booking, the Off-Peak member will need to pay for a Day Pass, since their membership only allows for free court bookings during Off-Peak times.
I'm a Standard member and my Unlimited friend booked a court for free — do I need to pay? +
Yes. If your membership doesn't include free court access, you'll need to purchase a Day Pass to join that booking.
Do members' guests always need a Day Pass? +
Unless a Standard member has already hired and paid for the court, any guests or certain types of members joining a free court booking must purchase a Day Pass.

[ FREE COURT BOOKINGS ]

What does “free court booking” mean? +
It means the court hire fee is covered by your membership, and you won't be charged to reserve and play on a court, up to your membership limits. Unlimited members can book up to 4 hours per day for free. Off-Peak members can book for free during Off-Peak hours (Monday–Friday, 7am–5pm). Day Pass fees for guests or other members may still apply.
Can Unlimited members book more than 4 hours in a day? +
The free court access is capped at 4 hours per day. If you'd like additional court time, standard court booking rates apply for anything beyond that.

[ OPEN PLAY & SOCIAL PLAY ]

What's the difference between Open Play and Social Play? +
Both are casual, drop-in style sessions where you play alongside other members and visitors. The specific format may vary by session — check the venue schedule for what's on.
What are Special Events, and why are they excluded from membership? +
Special Events are ticketed or premium sessions that sit outside the regular program — things like tournaments, Aperol & Pickle, themed nights, or featured events. These are excluded from membership benefits and require a separate ticket or booking.
I thought I have an Unlimited membership, but it shows I have 60 open play passes remaining? +
Our tech requires a number of passes in the system. If you get close to running out of passes, please let us know and we will increase it for you.
Social members: when does my 30-session count reset? +
Your 30 Open Play / Social Play sessions reset on your monthly billing date each month, not on the 1st of the calendar month. Any additional sessions will be 50% off.
Can I bring a guest to Open Play or Social Play? +
Unlimited members receive 4 open play guest passes per month, and Off-Peak members receive 2 open play guest passes per month. These passes do not accumulate or carry over if they are not used.

What is an Open Play guest pass? +
Open Play guest passes are complimentary passes you can share with a friend to join you for an Open Play or Social Play session at no cost to them. Off-Peak members receive 2 per month; Unlimited members receive 4 per month.
Can I bring guests? +
Absolutely. Members can bring guests to play. Guest fees apply, and all players need to follow our court guidelines.
Do unused guest passes roll over if I don't use them? +
No, guest passes expire at the end of each billing month. Use them or lose them.
Can I transfer my guest passes to someone else? +
No.

[ BILLING & CANCELLATION ]

Can I pause my membership? +
No, HOP memberships cannot be paused. If you need to stop, you can cancel anytime and re-join when you're ready.
If I cancel, when does my membership end? +
You can cancel anytime. Your membership remains active until the end of your current billing period — you won't be charged again after that.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership tier? +
Yes, speak to staff or contact us directly and we can adjust your tier. Changes will take effect immediately.
How does the 10% food, drinks & merchandise discount work? +
Let staff know you're a member when you order or purchase and they'll apply the discount manually. Make sure your membership is active and verifiable in the system.
Is paddle hire free every visit? +
Yes, paddle hire is included at no cost for all members across Standard, Off-Peak, Social, and Unlimited tiers. Just ask at reception when you arrive.

Does my guest receive free paddle hire? +
No, only members receive free paddle hire. All guests need to pay $5 per paddle.
I have booked a court and we are a total of 6 people — are there extra charges? +
Yes, the court is designed for 4 people to play on. If it exceeds 4 people, every extra player will pay $5. A maximum of 6 players are allowed.
